Start your search in 3 easy steps:

STEP 1: FILTER YOUR SEARCH. Select the search filters that interest you most. In the case of the "Kind of entity" and "Field" filters, the answer can be multiple, while in the rest of the filters you can only choose one of the options. But don't worry! If you want to perform several searches, you just must select in the "Delete filters" button to reset the search!

STEP 2: START YOUR SEARCH. Select the "Search" button and your search will begin. The software will tell you all the entities that fit your search filters.

STEP 3: ACCESS THE INFORMATION OF EACH ENTITY. For more information about the entities, you must select the "Read more" button under each logo of the entity. From here you can access the description of the entity and relevant information to contact, such as its website.

Description

The Kraków University is the oldest higher education institution in Poland and one of the oldest in Europe. It was founded on 12 May 1364 by the Polish king Casimir the Great.

Today the University employs 3.8 thousand academic staff, including over 650 professors, as well as about 3.5 thousand other staff members, while providing education to about 40 thousand students. Therefore, the impression that an institution like ours creates must properly reflect its presence in the social life of Poland, its timelessness and unwavering symbolism. Because of this, large scale investments are being financed, such as: the continued expansion of the Campus of the 600th Anniversary of the Jagiellonian University Revival, where the Faculty of Physics, Astronomy and Applied Computer Science has recently been relocated, the construction of new quarters for the Faculty of Chemistry, the continued construction of the Centre for Natural Sciences Education and the Institute of Geology, restoration and expansion of Collegium Paderevianum for the Faculty of Philology and the thorough renovation of Collegium Novum and the streets of the “university quarter”. We constantly improve and expand our infrastructure to create an ever better environment for scholarly research, teaching and learning. Funds for the abovementioned investments are acquired from various sources, e.g. the Ministry of Science and Higher Education, the European Union, the Municipality of Kraków, the Civic Committe for the Restoration of Kraków Heritage Sites as well as the University itself.

Erasmus+ programme was created in 1987 as a student exchange programme. Although its outreach and objectives widened in the following years, the main idea remains the same: expanding the international cooperation between the universities. The name of the programme refers to the name of a Dutch philosopher, theologian and humanist, Erasmus of Rotterdam (1466-1536). It’s no coincidence: Erasmus, just like other renaissance representatives, gained education at many universities in Europe, while his views on education were rooted in the ideas of humanism. Erasmus+ makes is possible for the students to study or undertake an internship abroad. Each Jagiellonian University student, full-time and part-time, regardless of the study cycle and nationality may apply to take part in the programme. Part-time students may apply for tuition fee waivers (after being accepted as a candidate and by submitting the application for tuition fee waiver to the Dean).
